The Catholic Medical Missionary Society (CMMS) is a small independent charity funded almost entirely by donations from members of the Guild of Catholic Doctors.
The Society was formed in 1967 to help relieve poverty and sickness overseas by the supply of personnel, equipment, drugs and materials to Catholic Missions. The CMMS relies entirely on donations, all of which are sent to Catholic Missions with no money being retained for administrative purposes. Approximately £5000 is sent each year in response to requests for help.
